Tummy Time

We are getting better and better at tummy time around here. Samantha's new friend Matt and his mom, Liz, recommended using the boppy, and let me tell you that has revolutionized tummy time around here.

The Lieu Family Visits

Samantha finally got to meet her Grandma and Grandpa Lieu and her Aunt Christine last week, and she loved getting to spend time with them.  There were lots of smiles, singing, and snuggling.  We already can't wait for another visit!

Video!

We finally figured out how to get videos onto the blog.  These two are a little dated, but just wanted those of you that haven't met Samantha to get a little taste of her personality.  Hopefully more new videos will follow soon!

Samantha always wakes up from her naps super stretchy. Thinking she may take after mommy here.

When Samantha is awake she loves to kick and kick.  Thinking these active legs are all daddy's genes.

Trip to Long Island #2

We went back to Long Island this past weekend, and Samantha got to meet a bunch of new friends!  Most importantly- Aunt Kerri and Uncle Eric!  And I got to be there for Emmie's Baby Shower- yay for a little friend for Samantha coming in April.

Kerri and Eric were so good with Samantha :)

She's holding her head up more now so I can balance her in sitting position- lets her look at the world, which is perfect since now she's focusing on people walking across the room.
Samantha is also loving studying people's faces.  She's glad she got to see her great-grandparents again!

Lanie still doesn't know what to make of her.

On Sunday my mom, Kerri, Mrs. Mitchell, and Anna hosted a baby shower for Emily Higgs (or Emmie Dief as she still always is in my head- she's been Kerri's best friend since Kindergarten- so we've all grown up together).

We made a scrapbook for Baby Higgs with thoughts, prayers, and encouraging pieces of scripture.
And we decorated onesies and bibs for Baby Higgs.
 Emily got some great presents.
Amanda, Emily, and Kerri- Best Friends since junior high.

Congrats Jeff and Emily!  We can't wait to meet Baby Higgs- I still can't believe you are going to be a mom- I'm still picturing you and Kerri running around our house in elementary school with super balls.  So fun to get to experience motherhood at the same time as you!  Praying for you both and baby Higgs!

Smiling!

Samantha started smiling this weekend- not just the I passed gas involuntary smile deal, but the I'm looking into your eyes and I'm happy to see you smile.  So fun! Hope to catch more of them soon.

Two Months Old!

Samantha turned two months old on March 4th.  At her doctor's visit today she weighed in at 10lbs 8oz (two pounds more than last month) and is now 22 1/2 inches long.  She also had to get four shots and an oral injection- she was such a champ, only crying a little bit, and the effect of the shots seems to just have made her even more tired.  We feel blessed to have such a healthy and happy little baby!

Samantha is basically awake now for an hour to an hour and a half after every nap and then she gets tired again.  But when she's awake she is super active, always kicking and flailing her arms.
We get skeptical faces from her a lot, but just this past week we've seen glimpses of smiles!

This month we've started to go out more and more, and we've loved starting to meet other moms and babies.

Samantha has also really loved her activity mat in month two, and she is getting great at tracking her toys and even us from much further away.  She's also looking at books when we read together.
 Love this nugget!
Here's our pobre with four bandaids on her thighs.  Look at those baby rolls!

To compare here is Samantha at one month...
