Last week we visited Andrew's parents in Southern California. It was wonderful to spend some time with them, and the weather was just divine- just what our winter weary family needed. Not so good- the 6 hour flight with a 13 month old who desperately wants to figure out walking- but we made it. It was nice to relax and hang out in Grandma and Grandpa's home.
I took this picture while on my morning run- gorgeous weather plus Grandma babysitting means lots of exercising happened, if only I felt this motivated every day!
Lunch at Panera- yum.
While Andrew had some meetings, Grandma, Samantha and I visited the Thousand Oaks Library. I was really impressed with the selection of children's books (and puppets!). Samantha liked the aquarium...
and the train table.
And of course we don't have to be in New Jersey for her to want to play with my purse more than any other toy.
I wish this wasn't blurry- Grandma built Samantha a tunnel and she loved looking through it.
Samantha also played the piano with Grandma. She loves her Grandma.
Finally, Samantha LOVED dancing with Grandma. She got to good at knowing what buttons to push on the little music maker to get the songs she wanted.
We visited Wildwood Playground with Grandpa
And we traveled around the house in the cozy coup that Grandma got (and built!) for Samantha. Sometimes S wanted all the stuffed animals in there with her and sometimes she wanted nothing to do with them :)
There was of course more wallet sorting
a puppet show from Daddy,
And a beautiful California sunset.
And Samantha was obsessed with climbing into this little chair Christine had as a child.
And the last night we got to see Kim, so fun!
More pics to come of the weekend when Aunt Christine and Uncle Stan visited.
P.S. Thanks to Tiff and Cadence for lending us some summery clothes!
Her knee dancing is beyond adorable. Love the photos of warm weather, pretty scenery and exercise! Also the photo of S in her car with all the animals. :) Glad you guys had a nice visit.
