Visit from the Chens

Last weekend the Chen family came to visit from Virginia.  In the midst of several tough weeks for my family, it was nice to be home and have dear friends come visit.  Cadence and Samantha made us smile the whole weekend, and it was wonderful to see them play together in a way they hadn't the other times they had gotten together in April and in August and in November.  It seems like the six month age difference is getting smaller and smaller, while at the same time it's hard to believe that in half a year Samantha will be walking and talking well.  We were so impressed with how well Cadence communicates- so looking forward to Samantha doing that soon!  Thanks, Tiff, Julius and Cadence for coming up on such short notice to visit- we loved having you!  And now the Cadence and Samantha picture reel.

Turns out Samantha is obsessed with pulling hair, and doesn't so much understand "gentle."  We're working on it.
Samantha figured out how to climb on her fire truck after watching Cadence do it.  She was very happy about it.
Lots of rolling around together.

Wait- there goes my fire truck!

Cadence is just cuteness in the wagon!

And stair climbing. S is so excited to see Cadence!

It was warm enough to take the girls out for a walk- finally was able to test the BOB.
And after the walk Auntie Vasanta appeared, having driven down from NYC to spend the afternoon with us.  It was wonderful to see her!

Love this sequence of the girls in the chair.

 Puppet show!

 And music time!

S has been climbing in our laps all the time these days.  Love that Cadence is snuggled into the guitar case.
 Hi moms!

Upside down babies!
Story time before bed for the kiddos.

And Sunday morning the girls were up to shenanigans again :)  S decide she didn't want to share her chair (hmm Andrew and I realize we're going to have to figure out discipline ASAP)

But they had fun sharing the wagon.  They pushed each other around the house.  Samantha of course still doing the pushing on her knees- although she had a few steps pushing and walking- maybe it's the start of something!

Cadence's turn to push
And love these final pics of Samantha, Cadence, and Julius's hat.

Thanks for coming, Chens!
